Crosshair to begin drilling Wing's Point-Titan project

Crosshair Exploration & Mining will begin a 10-hole (1,000-metre) drilling program on the Wing's Point-Titan project, north-central Newfoundland, under option from Rubicon Minerals.

The phase 1 drilling program will test previously released trench results including 15.25 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) over 3.00 metres (trench 7) and 9.41 g/t Au over 4.25 metres (trench 9). The company has received preliminary approval from the Department of Mines and expects to collar the first hole May 21. The focus of phase 1 drilling will test mineralization in trenches 3, 7, 9 and 11. Eight holes will test high-grade gold mineralization exposed in trenches 7 and 9 to vertical depths of 25 metres and 50 metres directly beneath the trenches, with step-outs of up to 50 metres along strike. Trenches 3 and 11 will each be tested by a single hole at a planned vertical depth of 25 metres. Due to the presence of coarse gold at Wings Point-Titan, HQ core will be drilled and all assays will be carried out using a metallic screen separation and fire assay technique to ensure that any coarse gold in the samples report to the final results.

A new batch of assays, including reassaying of samples using the metallic screen fire assay method, has demonstrated increases in some of the original channel samples announced in Stockwatch on April 21, 2004 (see news release for background on project).

                Fire Metallic Sample
               assay assay length
              average average (m)

Trench 9 9.4 11.21 4.25

Trench 7 15.25 15.75 3.00

Revised results are based on 55 samples that were resubmitted for metallic screen separation and fire assaying due to the presence of plus-150-mesh coarse gold occurring in a significant portion of previously analyzed samples. A complete list of the new and previously reported results is available at the company website located at www.crosshairexploration.com/results.html.

Crosshair is planning an aggressive exploration program on all of the Newfoundland projects in 2004, with a heavy emphasis on trenching and drilling. All work is being supervised by Timothy Froude, PGeo, general manager and chief geologist for the Newfoundland projects, and the qualified person as defined under the Canadian securities administrators' National Instrument 43-101.
