The Precor EFX544 Elliptical Trainer is a gym quality elliptical trainer. As such, it is designed to take a great deal of use and abuse, while offering a wide variety of exercisers a workout that is suited to them. Most elliptical users these days are used to at least having the option of getting an upper body workout as well as a lower body workout. The Precor EFX544 Elliptical Trainer does not offer any sort of upper body workout, which limits it's use for some exercisers.

Reviewers were impressed with the small increments available when increasing or decreasing resistance. Although these elliptical trainers are designed for gym use, some reviewers complained that they began to fall apart after a year of solid use. The Precor EFX544 Elliptical Trainer compares well with the Precor EFX546 Elliptical Trainer, but seems to offer a slightly choppier motion.
